Easy Crispy Air-Fried Chicken with Avocado Sauce Recipe

    Recipe Ingredients

      For the Chicken:

      • Chicken Thighs with Bone Choose fresh never frozen, chicken thighs whenever possible.
      • Smoked Paprika
      • Dried Oregano
      • Garlic Powder
      • Onion Powder
      • Pepper
      • Salt Choose sea salt for the most natural salty flavor.
      • Crushed Garlic Fresh garlic is perfect but jarred and frozen are both great alternatives.
      • Baking Powder This special seasoning is actually the trick to extra crispy chicken skin!
      • Olive Oil This lean cooking oil is perfect for this recipe but you can swap it for your favorite cold-pressed oil if you prefer.

      For the Sauce:

      • ½ of a Ripe Avocado Look for an avocado with dark and bumpy skin. It should yield slightly to the touch but not be too soft.
      • Low-Fat Yogurt Greek Yogurt, or Sour Cream - Use your favorite type of dairy to add a nice tangy flavor to this velvety sauce. You can even trade this for a dairy-free variety if you are watching your dairy.
      • Juice of 1 Lemon Try juicing lemons over a strainer so you never have to pick out seeds again!
      • Fresh Cilantro This is the perfect herbal flavor to complement the rich avocado and citrus.
      • Chili Powder Adds a nice spicy kick!
      • Sea Salt
      • Pepper

      Ingredients:

      • 4 chicken thighs with bone
      • 1 tsp moked paprika
      • 1 tsp dried oregano
      • 1 tsp garlic powder
      • 1 tsp onion powder
      • 1/2 tsp pepper
      • 1 tsp salt
      • 2 cloves of crushed garlic
      • 1 tbsp baking powder
      • 1 tbsp olive oil

      The Sauce:

      • ½ of a Ripe Avocado
      • 3 tbsp Low-Fat Yogurt
      • Juice of 1 Lemon
      • Fresh Cilantro
      • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
      • 1 tsp Sea Salt
      • 1 tsp Pepper

      Instructions
       

      Instructions:

      • Massage the seasonings into the chicken and under the skin of the chicken.
      • Place them in the air fryer for 30 minutes at 200°C/400°F. After 30 minutes turn them around and air fry them for another 15 to 20 min depending on the size of your chicken thighs.
      • While the chicken cooks make the sauce. In a food processor blend the avocado, yogurt (or sour cream), lemon juice, fresh cilantro, chili powder, sea salt, and pepper.
