INGREDIENTS
Olive Oil: Delicious olive oil is the perfect base for making homemade salad dressings and sauces. It is a nice lean liquid fat with a fairly mild olive flavor. It also helps your body with bad cholesterol lowering capability.
Apple Cider Vinegar: This ingredient is a type of vinegar made from apples. It has a wonderfully sweet fruity, and sharp vinegar flavor. That is why it’s always a top choice when making dressings, but if you prefer another variety of sweet vinegar you can use that as an even swap.
Mustard: Mustard has a nice tangy earthiness that balances the creamy and fatty flavor of the avocado perfectly. Mustard is a great source of free radical-fighting antioxidants.
Garlic Powder: Garlic makes everything taste better! This common antimicrobial food has a huge flavor!
Avocado: Fresh avocado is what makes this sauce so creamy and tantalizing! Avocados are a superb source of cholesterol-free fiber and fat. They are filled with delicious monounsaturated fats which have been attributed to lowering bad cholesterol levels.
Shrimp: The star of this salad is the shrimp! These crustaceans have so much buttery briny, and oceanic flavor that they are impossible to resist! Shrimp is loaded with calcium, protein, potassium, and healthy cholesterol, making them the ideal lean protein!
Red Onion: Red onions are a colorful and tasty way to bring onion flavor to this dish. Red onions have a little bit more pepperiness than their yellow and white cousins; however if you do not have red onions, both of those are good substitutes.
Garlic: Gorgeous fresh garlic is cooked with the onions and shrimp to bring an even more aromatic flavor to the salad. Choose fresh and mince it for this Shrimp Avocado Salad recipe or try the jarred or frozen varieties of minced garlic.
