Flavorful Ease – This Low-Carb Adana Kebab with Lavash Rolls recipe is like culinary magic! It’s low-carb, delicious, and so easy to make that the only special equipment you’ll need is the skewers!
Equipment
Skewers – What makes an Adana Kebab so unique and special is the skewer. Traditionally the meat is literally formed to wrap perfectly around a flat-style metal skewer. If you do not have this type of skewer, don’t fret! You can use round-style metal skewers or wooden skewers. However, if you choose to use wood, make sure you pre-soak them in water so they do not burn.
Electric Grill – One great way to ensure that these kebabs cook uniformly is to use an electric grill. This common countertop appliance heats up evenly so your food cooks perfectly no matter where it is on the grill.
Ingredients
Lavash Bread – Lavash is literally what holds this meal together. The tasty kebab meat is served nestled inside the lavash making a street cart-style snack!
Tomato – Fresh tomato brings a bright flavor to balance the meatiness of this dish! Plus, tomatoes are loaded with lycopene which helps prevent cellular deterioration.
Onion – The earthiness of raw onion adds to the fresh salad and it’s loaded with healthy plant-based fiber! You will need onion again for the kebab mixture, so be sure to grab two.
Sweet Red Paprika – This lovely red pepper has the right vegetable sweetness to balance the beefy flavor of the kebab, and with over two times your daily vitamin C requirement, these peppers are no slouch!
Parsley – This leafy green herb has so much tantalizing flavor and a delicious aroma. It’s the perfect vitamin-rich herb to round out the salad. Save some extra to add color and flavor to the meat mix for the kebabs.
If you’re out of parsley or you want to mix up the flavor with something a little sweeter, try basil or mint.
Salt and Pepper – A hit of this classic seasoning pair brings life to this simple yet delicious salad!
Olive Oil – Olive oil acts as the dressing for this salad. If you prefer another cold-pressed oil you can tag it into this cook.
Ground Beef – Ground beef is the base of these hearty kebabs. Use lean ground beef to keep this dish protein-rich yet light.
Garlic – Beautiful fresh garlic adds crunch and savory earthiness to every bite of these hearty low-carb kebabs.
Cumin – Cumin is an earthy savory spice that makes meat taste unbelievable!
Paprika – A hint of this colorful spice brings a little smoky, sweet, and spicy flavor to the meat mix. Use your favorite variety of paprika for this meal.
Garlic Powder – Garlic makes our mouths go wild, that’s why we double down on the garlic by adding fresh and powdered garlic. It will make your whole home smell delicious!
Onion Powder – A touch of onion powder finishes the kebab mixture with savory, earthy, and sweet notes.
Mozzarella Cheese – A little yummy cheese to top the kebabs is just right. Mozzarella has the texture and mild flavor to bring out the best in this dish but you can swap it for any cheese you like.
Green Leaf Lettuce – For freshness, finish the kebab roll with a little lettuce!
